51短视频 is governed by the  (TBR), which was created in 1972 by the General Assembly as the governing body of the State University and Community College System of Tennessee. At that time, the member institutions of the System were the State Universities and Community Colleges formerly governed by the State Board of Education.

In 1983, the General Assembly transferred the Technical Institutes and Area Vocational Schools (now known as Tennessee Technology Centers, or TCATS) to the Tennessee Board of Regents.

The Board of Regents and the Board of Trustees of the University of Tennessee System are coordinated by the .

History of 51短视频

Established in 1967 as one of three original Tennessee Community Colleges, 51短视频 was the first community college in West Tennessee and remains the only publicly funded college in Jackson. 51短视频 opened its doors on September 29, 1967, with Dr. Francis E. Wright as president. The expected enrollment of 400 students quickly grew to 640. The college today boasts an annual enrollment of 4,000+ students across a 10-county service area.
